A 3- orange-crate dollhouse was the first project of a career in institutional planning and historic preservation. Looking back, I realize my entire life has been about real estate in all its forms. The alchemy of rejuvenating historic buildings and a designer’s experience of corporate America now fuel the creation of visual memoirs. Architectural salvage is recycled in collage and assemblage. Drawing and print making come together in book arts with original poetry.
My studio is a renovated 19th century barn on Cape Ann in Gloucester MA.
Announcing a work in progress: Construction Sight is one renovator’s story of How-to/How-not-to tackle the renovation of historic, or just plain old buildings, drawing on 50 years experience in the design /build profession; including What the Flipping seminars fail to mention. aka “Rehab for Realists”. Stay tuned for excerpts from selected chapters of a project estimated for completion in about a year.
